What is the official Twitter account of the Royal House?
The Twitter account @koninklijkhuis is the official channel of the Royal House.
The account has had verified status since January 2012, which shows users that it is authentic. The Royal House does not maintain individual accounts. This means that any account claiming to belong to King Willem-Alexander, Queen Máxima or Princess Beatrix is not authentic.
The editorial team behind @koninklijkhuis is led by the Government Information Service (RVD), though from time to time the King, Queen or Princess may use the account to send out a personal tweet. In that case the text will be in quotation marks, and will be a direct quote from the person concerned.
King Willem-Alexander, Queen Máxima and Princess Beatrix represent all the people of the Netherlands and therefore do not follow other accounts selectively. Unfortunately, there is not enough capacity at the RVD to respond to individual messages from the many followers of @koninklijkhuis. However, the RVD does read them and, if possible, addresses them indirectly in its communications.
