The King’s budget
The King’s budget sets out the projected expenditure associated with the performance of his official duties.
Three articles
The expenditure is divided over three articles:
- constitutional allowances paid to members of the Royal House;
- official expenditure of the King;
- expenditure recharged from other budgets.
The King’s budget for 2015 totals € 40,085,000.
Article 1: Constitutional allowances paid to members of the Royal House
Constitutional allowances are currently paid to King Willem-Alexander, Queen Máxima and Princess Beatrix. The estimated amounts for 2015 are as follows:

Article 2: Official expenditure of the King
Article 2 of the King’s budget covers projected expenditure connected with the performance of his official duties and handled by the Royal Household (DKH). The projected expenditure for 2015 is as follows:

Article 3: Expenditure recharged from other budgets
Article 3 covers costs associated with the King’s official duties, primarily incurred under the responsibility of a minister (i.e. the Prime Minister and the Minister of Defence). This includes expenditure by the Government Information Service (RVD), the Military Household as part of the Royal Household, and the King’s Office. The projected expenditure for 2015 is as follows:
