Forming a new government

Since March 2012 the Rules of Procedure of the House of Representatives have specified that the House plays the leading role in the process of forming a new government.

The formation process begins immediately after a parliamentary election and lays the foundations for the formation of a new government and for the policies the new government will pursue.
