Working visit to the People’s Republic of China
His Majesty King Willem-Alexander and Her Majesty Queen Máxima are to pay a working visit to the People’s Republic of China at the invitation of President Xi Jinping. The visit will take place on 7 February 2018 in Beijing and the surrounding area. The King and Queen will be accompanied by foreign minister Halbe Zijlstra.
On 8 February, King Willem-Alexander will travel to South Korea, where he will attend the IOC president’s dinner that evening. Queen Máxima will remain in Beijing that day, where she will participate in an economic programme.
The working visit will build on the good relations established during the King and Queen’s state visit to China in October 2015. The royal couple will subsequently attend the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang in South Korea.
