His Majesty the King and Prime Minister Rob Jetten will receive Prime Minister of the Republic of India Narendra Modi during his visit to the Netherlands on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 May. The visit will focus on deepening bilateral relations between the two countries and on signing a Strategic Partnership to that end.

On Saturday 16 May, the King and Her Majesty Queen Máxima will receive Prime Minister Modi at Huis ten Bosch Palace, followed by a lunch at the palace for the Prime Minister and some of his delegation. Minister of Foreign Affairs Tom Berendsen will also be present, along with a number of CEOs of Dutch companies and representatives from the arts and culture sector and academia.

Later that day, two companies will sign a cooperation agreement in the presence of Prime Minister Modi and Prime Minister Jetten. Afterwards the prime ministers will join CEOs of Dutch companies for a roundtable discussion on economic cooperation between the Netherlands and India, hosted by the Minister of Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation Sjoerd Sjoerdsma. Minister Sjoerdsma will deliver opening remarks. The discussion will conclude with brief speeches from both prime ministers.

In the early evening, Prime Minister Jetten will receive Prime Minister Modi at the Catshuis for delegation talks and an informal dinner. Topics will include the situation in the Middle East, the war in Ukraine, and cooperation in the areas of security, new technologies, water management and the economy. Various agreements that make up the Strategic Partnership between the two countries will also be exchanged.

On Sunday 17 May Prime Minister Modi will conclude his visit to the Netherlands with a working visit focusing on water management, during which he will be accompanied by Prime Minister Jetten.
