Queen Máxima receives International Advisory Board of Global Finance & Technology Network

Her Majesty Queen Máxima will today, Wednesday 29 October, receive the members of the International Advisory Board (IAB) of the Global Finance & Technology Network (GFTN) for a meeting at Huis ten Bosch Palace. GFTN works at international level for efficient, resilient and inclusive financial systems. In her role as the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Financial Health (UNSGSA), Queen Máxima has chaired the advisory board since 1 July 2025.

This is the first time that the IAB is meeting to advise GFTN on the opportunities and risks of using technological innovations to deliver financial products (fintech). Alongside the IAB, several members of GFTN are also attending the meeting.

GFTN hosts a worldwide network of forums, including the Singapore FinTech Festival, where companies showcase new digital financial products and share knowledge with one another. As UNSGSA, Queen Máxima has taken part in the festival on several occasions. GFTN also advises companies and governments on policies that drive technological innovation in the financial sector. To reinforce this, GFTN introduced the Global Impact Champions Awards this summer. The awards are for fintech startups with innovative products that can be easily scaled up. This year’s focus is on contributing to financial health. Three of the 15 finalists will present their projects in the margins of the meeting. The award winners will be announced in mid-November during the Singapore Fintech Festival.
